where's the justice in that, eh?
the day started out as usual. woke up at 8:30, ate a mcdo longganisa breakfast while watching jack on star movies then proceeded to spend some thirty minutes in front of the computer, doing nothing but checking out people's blogs and looking up the harry potter and the goblet of fire script on the net. after waiting some ten minutes for the home page to upload, my patience wore out and i decided to abandon my attempt and watch some good old television instead. there was nothing good on either disney channel, cinemax, hallmark, hbo or star movies, three channels which i usually just choose between to watch. so i channel-surfed some more and found a movie that piqued my interest in cinema one. it was ipaglaban ako, the movie 2, starring carmina villaroel and some other minor filipino actors. it was about this nanny [carmina] who was wrongly accused of kidnapping her five something charge, a seemingly autistic child. the truth was the child ran off on her own accord. meanwhile, belen [the nanny] was taken into custody by the police, who, instead of informing her of her rights [makes you think of the shows wherein policemen would handcuff people and say 'you have a right to remain silent..anything you say or do will be used against you in a court of law...you have a right to an attorney...blah..] physically, verbally, emotionally and sexually abused the poor woman to make her 'sing'. need i say i was aghast the entire time i was watching the film? made me think that there must be a lot of people in jail who really are innocent and had to go through hell just because they were used by some people to save their behinds. justice is indeed blind...it only sees those who can give it money and turns a blind eye upon those who are poor. cripes, if that's so-called justice, then we might as well forsake all ethics and decorum.this sort of thing could be happening everyday. we just don't know it. people like her go through hell just for the truth to be told and for the wrong to be righted. bravery isn't dead after all..
