The Prestige
There are three parts in a magician's trick. The first is the pledge, where the magician takes an ordinary object. The second is the turn, where the magician turns the ordinary into something extraordinary. The audience won't clap until the magician brings back what he vanished. The final and most crucial act is the prestige, the time when the magician amazes and awes his audience with the reappearance of the vanished object.The Prestige is this movie about two magicians, once friends but turned enemies, enslaved by their desire to beat each other at their own game. What once began as friendly competition evolved into a bitter rivalry at each tried to prove himself the best magician in all of London. The plot was fantastic; it was elaborate and unique. Watch it! :)Are you watching closely?*****Went to eastwood today. Twasn't too fun...there wasn't much to do after we watched The Prestige (!!!). We planned to not go back anymore...the people were too pa-sosyal, pretentious and just plain annoying. When Apa and I were playing in this dance revo-like game sa arcade, these really annoying girls came up behind us and watched us play. E dahil sa hindi naman kami bihasa ni Apa, nagkakamali kami, and humirit yung isa sa kaibigan niya, "Diba expert ka dyan?". She even repeated it, like two more times or something. Umm, ok, so kelangan mo pa ba igiit na di kami magaling? Tapos nung umalis na kami, sabi nung isa na yun snootily, "FINALLY, we can play". *rolls eyes* Arte. I longed to give them a piece of my mind, but being the one of the actually "mature" people there (Apa being the other), I just kept silent.Another time na pumasok kami nina Apa and Jescia sa store para bumili ng smoothies, tumigil talaga yung mga tao sa loob and binigyan pa ata kami ng ulo-hanggang-paa na stare. Eeek...parang they were telling us na you have no right to be here...mga sosyal lang na tao ang pwede. Eeew. People like those make me gag. Hmph. Kung wala lang yung Fazoli's dun hindi na talaga ako babalik. Gateway rules. Dun na lang tayo. Wala pang mga superficial na maarteng tao.
